I am a born and raised Baltimore girl. I come from a large extended family. My grand mom was the oldest of 7 kids, all of which had about 2 kids each. Despite that, my sister and I have not followed in the family's footsteps. I would love to change that. I knew as a child that I wanted to grow up to be a mom. I didn't want to be a doctor or a teacher. Being a mom is all I have ever wanted.
I help friends and family out with their kids as much as possible. They are always shocked that even after a full day of children driving me bat-sh*t crazy I still had a good day and very much want kids. I told my loved ones about wanting to do this alone and they all had one question and one statement for me... "What part of single motherhood looks easy?" I told them none of it. But nothing worth having is easy. So they all told me that if anyone could handle it, it would be me. Knowing I have the support of my loved ones makes me that much more confident that this is the right thing to do.
