Personally, for me, the term "donation" makes it sound like a hand-out. I approach this more like helping someone complete their life & family; like finding that one last puzzle-piece that is missing and always the hardest to find.
I really do love kids! I grew up totally expecting (and desiring) a house full of kids... and still do!!
I enjoy living life again through kids. The first time they play with a balloon. The first time their bare feet touch the grass. The first time they touch the bark on a tree. The first time they feel sand in their toes or the joy of playing in the mud. It is like reliving your life through a new set of eyes and touch; all things a vast majority of us take for granted being too busy with the hustle and bustle in our lives.
I am a musician who has been playing one instrument or another as far back as 5 years old. Accordian, piano, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, both acoustic & electric guitar, bass guitar & keyboards & drums. I am also retired from the U.S. Air Force where I served as a cop and then as an I.T. tech. Now I volunteer on base as an I.T. tech as well as help family and friends with computer issues.
(Sexual orientation is not a show-stopper). My ex-wife & mother of my son and 1 of 4 daughters is a lesbian; both conceived naturally. She has been a great mother and remains a close friend!! We have kept in close contact through the years. When we divorced we made a very conscious choice to never use the kids as pawns. They were not the reason we decided to ultimately split. We also made a very conscious effort not to put any issues that came up between my ex and myself. They were co-parented with open communication and give and receive.
Coparenting option is on the table; but it would require more discussion about it.
If the option is open for discussion...I'd like to be there for you through the pregnancy and birth. Afterwards, though it may not be easy, I am okay surrendering all contact, rights & responsibilities to whatever level or non-level you feel comfortable with.
