My husband and I have been together for about 10 years, coming up on our 4th wedding anniversary. We live in a modest home on 10 acres in rural North Carolina with our 2 dogs and 2 cats.

My husband is retired from the Marine Corps and stays home working on projects around the house and in his shop. I'm a Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Coordinator for the Army. We're licensed foster parents and hoping to add two children to our happy little family.

We believe in gentle, respectful parenting, and we approach challenges with patience, love, creativity and humor. Our family norms are: 1. We treat ourselves, each other, and our environment with love and respect. 2. We tell the truth, even when it's hard. And 3. We try our best, celebrate our efforts and achievements, and learn from our mistakes.
