I have been an active sperm donor for 4 years. I had previously been a donor back in my 20's at the traditional sperm banks but eventually "aged out". I have helped 5 couples conceive children in the last few years and found it more rewarding, having met the parents ahead of time. I don't ask for any contact with the child and will only donate with a legal contract releasing me of any and all parental or financial obligations. At the parents request, I will provide a letter of introduction and photos for the child to have once they turn 18. They are bound to be curious and it's the least I can do.
