We are a same-sex, lesbian/pansexual, married couple looking to conceive our first child. We live in Bristol. We married in 2022 and have been together for 4 years. We are also disabled and planning for parenthood with a specialist OT/Physio team 😊.
One of us is a trained hairdresser and the other a psychology student, mental health worker and drag performer.
We share a love of music and crafting. We both volunteer with a local charity who have also supported us over the years. We love trips to the beach in the summer and having chilled evenings watching films.
It has taken almost a year since coming off contraception and medications to finally be able (and safe) to start conceiving. Becoming mothers and having a family is something we have both wanted for so long and we are now looking for a sperm donor to help us make that a reality.
We are quite open minded when it comes to what we want from a donor. We aren't influenced by physical characteristics or background. We just want someone who is kind, respectful and trustworthy.
We are also open to discussing (but not exclusively looking for) co-parenting with the right donor, should that be something they desire. Especially if it is someone from the LGBTQIA+ communities who experience similar challenges towards becoming parents. We have discussed this at length and looked up the legal side of this also. However, we would want to get to know someone on much deeper level before we would consider this.
Whatever agreements we make with a donor will be drawn up in a contract and looked over by a solicitor so all parties are protected.
We will only conceive via AI with no exceptions! Donors will be expected to have a sexual health screening before donating.
