My vocation is: craftsperson, artist, designer, builder
My personal life is: outdoors, cooking, and finding a balance between comfort + discomfort
I live in a rural area of the Mojave Desert of Southern California. I moved to this area seven years ago to help facilitate an artist residency and now manage the ceramic studio at the residency a few days a week. The other part of the week I work as a designer, drafter, and builder for a furniture + cabinetry design studio.
A few times a year I go backpacking the Eastern Sierras with a good friend who is a foraged foods gourmet chef.
I bike to work 22 miles round trip 2-3 days a week, just to make the day brighter and to keep myself healthy.
I’ve been weaving out of a communal studio since 2014 where I recently started testing out utilitarian + decorative knot tying techniques that I am incorporating into traditional tapestries. My weavings have been sold through different museum stores and at art fairs.
I come from a family of artists, teachers, and athletes.
I am culturally German Lutheran, and though I am not practicing and don't intend to, it is a longstanding tradition in my extended family that I am respectful of.
I am interested in a co-parenting dynamic, either with a single person (queer or heterosexual) or an LGBTQ couple who would like to work as partners in raising a little person. I am also interested in sperm donors.
