I have always planned to have a family, but at the same time I have always wanted to preserve my independence. These last few years have been incredibly busy for me and so starting a family has been on the back burner (so to speak) for longer than I foresaw, but now I have the opportunity to focus on my personal life - my wishes and dreams - and so here I am.

I am a researcher in neuroscience but have interests in the wide range of science and medicine. I am currently running a business with a friend and will continue doing so indefinitely. Business is not really my thing, but it gives something to do whilst there is a lack of scientific opportunities.

I do have a wide range of interests, but these are things which can be discussed later.

In terms of my wishing to have a family, wishing to co-parent, I do have criteria. These are the crucial ones:

- Honesty
- Respecting of one another’s opinions
- Be negotiable and talk things through
- Decisions to be made and decided on by both parents and not made by one
- The child to be brought up in a nurturing, safe, happy, loving environment
- The child to have equal time with both parents

I am sure I shall add more later, but, for now, these are a few to digest.
