I am based in Sheffield and am looking for two other people (ideally an already established queer couple) to create a nurturing co-parenting triad to raise a child I would gestate. I am very anti the nuclear family and despite the intense restrictions placed on people in society to raise children in a particular way I believe that many families are blended and raise children cooperatively anyway. I aim to intentionally create such a setup that could provide stability, love and care.
I am a radical leftist that is currently undertaking a PhD on a section of the European climate movement. My personal and political values are important to me and in finding co-parents.
One of my overriding goals in life is to raise a child in a deeply caring and egalitarian way that equips them with the best tools to face the uncertain future. I believe as soon as we stop having children we have given up all hope and through my theory and practice I am determinedly hopeful about the world without being naive. I believe children create hope.
I am polyamorous and have a dog. I live in a collective household where we have a strong communal focus and am dedicated to maintaining communality in my life with a child.
I would consider living long-term with two other co-parents or committing to residing nearby living in Sheffield for at least 18 years of raising a child. I have a lot of experience of looking after children and know I will make a good mother.
Before I re-entered academia I worked for a number of charities that worked with children and young adults including teaching children how to ride bikes and explore the outdoors.
People say my ideal of parenting is too radical but I believe, over the coming years, I can find two other people with similar values to create a lovely nest for a little sapling to grow and flourish 😊.
