I am a Canadian based in Toronto, of Pakistani Muslim origin, with secure employment in the provincial government. Becoming a biological mother has always been important to me, and I have recently frozen my eggs. While I have had fulfilling relationships, I am now focusing on a ‘coparenting first’ approach.

I am seeking a single man or hetero co-parents and am open to a romantic connection if it develops naturally. Regardless of romantic connection, note that I would need some “marriage-like” (but not civil) commitment from the male co-parent so that, within mainstream Muslim society, he would be recognized as the child’s father. I am also open to being a second wife and lean toward a poly-positive perspective.

At this time, I would prefer that the father of the child be in proximity and be involved in the child’s life on at least on a part-time basis. I am just starting to have conversations with my family and friends about practical support, and until I have clarity on this, I prefer coparenting over a donor only approach.

I am also open to non-Muslim co-parents who are supportive of raising the child in a Muslim household. I am not a fully practicing Muslim, but one of the firm lines I have drawn is to not have the child raised in multiple faith traditions.

I wish relocating was an option for me, but I have a stable family-friendly job in a country with good maternity leave benefits.

I lead a healthy and active lifestyle, live independently, and come from a close-knit, loving family (my siblings are aware of my intentions and are fully supportive at least in spirit). I enjoy yoga, travelling, reading, and have a deep love for nature. I have extensive mindfulness training and love “doing life” with children and seeing them be naturally present in the moment.
