My wife sadly had her desired quota of children with her first husband and I reluctantly accepted I'll never know the love one has for one's own children, but as the years have passed, I really would like to help others to realise an ambition that seems unlikely for me, even if it's preferred that I have no further involvement, but at least I'd have some satisfaction knowing my genes won't disappear when I do!
Genealogy wise, my maternal ancestor came over from Normandy with William the Conqueror, but I've only traced my father's lineage back to the eighteenth century when my great-great-grandfather built houses on the estate in Bootle that he had previously used to breed shire horses before the onset of the motor car.
IQ-wise, my official result the last time it was checked was 137, but I suspect the questions were just very simple that day as I certainly don't consider myself to be a geek, and fertility-wise, Nottingham City Hospital asked me to be a donor after I had my sperm production analysed. I've never taken drugs, had a criminal record or an STI (as will be proven prior to donation) and have enjoyed excellent health throughout my life.
