Life began about 3.5 billion years ago. If you imagine a chain, connecting you with your parents, and them with their parents, and so forth, that chain would stretch back in time by 3.5 billion years.

If you are here, that means you have decided to forge the next link in the chain. You are making the same choice that your 3.5 billion years' worth of ancestors made.

Okay, I'm guessing you weren't thinking in terms of 3.5 billion years. You just wanted to have kids. That's natural, and it's good. The whole 3.5 billion years thing was to help you understand why it is good, why it is sacred, and why anyone who doesn't support you in this is in error.
