I am almost 39 and want to have at least one biological child. I am looking for a co-parent for a few reasons. I want my child(ren) to be able to know their father before the age of 18. I believe it is important to have strong male role models in a child's life.
Second, is the financial and emotional aspect. I can afford to raise one child on my current salary, but would much prefer to have some financial and emotional support so that I can perhaps work a little less and have more time to spend with my child.
I am 5'5", dark blonde/green, athletic build and have an Ivy League education. My father had high cholesterol and bp and my paternal GM had rheumatoid arthritis, but no other family history of medical issues. I am in great health, exercise regularly and take no medications.
I am agnostic. Not in the "I can't make up my mind" sense, but rather in that I am more scientifically minded and the existence of a God has not been proven or disproven. I do see the value in raising a child with some kind of spiritual beliefs and I have recently been reading books on how to reconcile my beliefs with what I would teach my child.
I am open to co-parents from other geographic areas, but there would then be the issue of how much time could reasonably be spent with the father. I fully expect to be the primary care-giver and custodial parent, with visitations to be worked out between us.
I am very serious about this and if I cannot find the right co-parent situation, I plan to start trying with AI in April. I am happy to send pictures after we have established a rapport, but feel not posting pictures to my profile will help weed out those who are not serious.
