There was the time I went swimming in the ocean a month before the polar bear club dared to get in, when there was ice on the beach and a person was expected to die in minutes if they fell in the water. But I enjoyed the experience, and none the worse for wear, I did it again a few years later. My friends never let me forget what I said about it: "the polar bear club is a bunch of pussies."
