My wife and I have been together for 12 years and have explored different options of having a child in our lives and co-parenting is the one that resonates with us both. It feels right.
I would love to father a child and we would love to be part of the support network and take an active role in their upbringing by providing a loving and supportive environment for when the child is with us.
We have a home in Edinburgh and also own a holiday home in Italy (on Lake Como) where we have spent a lot of time. We will be spending more time in the UK and are in the process of deciding where that will be (the south coast of England is very appealing as my wife has family, friends and colleagues around that area; we also have family, friends and colleagues in Edinburgh).
We both run our own businesses and are able to work remotely which gives us a great deal of flexibility.
We envisage the Mother (and probably a lesbian partner) being the primary carer(s) of the child. We would however love to play an active and supporting role in the child’s life. It’s important to us that the child knows and has a relationship with its father.
We would expect (and would like) to contribute financially to the child’s upbringing.
We see this as an opportunity to bring a planned child into the world and it’s important to us both that our combined relationship is one that will enhance and enrich the child’s life.
Getting to know the intended mother (couple) is of high importance to us both as this, being the long term commitment that it is, will further enhance the upbringing of the child and will be enjoyable for all involved.
