Adoptly, the Tinder for child adoption, seriously?
Adoptly is a new app using a Tinder-like interface to help people find suitable children to adopt - allegedly. We say "allegedly" because this does look like an elaborate hoax.The company/hoaxers are looking for money to bring this nightmarish thing/app to life - though this looks doomed to failure.
The promotional video for the app must be sending up the earnest Silicon Valley rubbish spouted by many firms from Apple downwards.
Still, unsurprisingly some people have pledged money to them, just not very much.
Whether this is real or fake, it does (unintentionally) highlight the difficulties faced by individuals and couples seeking to adopt. If it is a fake, it is a cruel fake.
